Rocklin Police At Ruhkala Elementary
Traffic Violaters Beware!
This morning as I was taking my son to school, I noticed a Rocklin Police Officer just hanging out during student drop off, a very welcome sight.
Although I’ve never had an issue with people driving irresponsibly around our school, the Cresleigh Springs Crime Stoppers Facebook page has been a buzz lately with reports of people not stopping at stop signs during the morning “rush” 20 minutes and some rude behavior.
The nice thing about the Facebook page is that we can all talk about when, who and what in an open forum. Although it does sometimes get a little heated, it’s productive.
Ruhkala Elementary is an amazing school with an awesome staff and my son is very happy there. The report card meeting we had last night was just awesome and we’re very proud of him.
Hopefully just the RPD officer’s presence will get the point across that the city is listening to us and they are as concerned about the safety of our children as we are.
It doesn’t take much to be just a bit more careful out there. Nothing is so important that we can’t take our time and go slow around our children. They learn best by example so let’s show them we can be responsible citizens by looking out for each other, slowing down and being a courteous as possible.
