New Homes In Rocklin
Corner of Blue Oaks and Sonora Pass
About a month ago, I noticed some fencing blocking off the vacant area at the corner of Blue Oaks and Sonora Pass Road. I knew at some point, especially with the market changing for the better, that this land would be built on.
Well, that time has come.
I called Brett at the city planning department today and he verified that there will be initially 61 homes built on this parcel and another 54 homes built on an adjacent parcel at some point in the future.
The property has been owned for some time and the entitlement retained to build but because the market crashed when it did, the builder held off for “fairer skies”.
D.R. Horton has submitted plans to the city for approval and in 3 to 4 months there will be a hearing to discuss their plans. Brett said that they should be breaking ground on the roads and services in the next 3 to 5 months.
He also said they should start building in the August/September time frame.
I asked about the set back from the creek area and he told me that it should be consistent with what’s already in place in the neighborhood.
It will be interesting to see the homes they build and if they’ll be conforming in style to the rest of the area.
That’s the news I got.
Thanks for visiting!
