Ruhkala Elementary School – Teacher Appreciation Week
What An Amazing School
My son Ryan has been going to Ruhkala Elementary since pre-school. He’s never gone to any other school but Ruhkala so please forgive me if I seem biased! 🙂
I can’t be more impressed by what the teachers and staff do here. I could not have hoped for a better start to my son’s educational life than going to Ruhkala. I wish all schools were like this and that said, I wish my school had been like this.
Most of the kids who go to Ruhkala live here in the neighborhood around the school. They’re his friends and we see them in our community all the time. Getting to know as many kids as possible turns all of us adults into semi-parents to all these kids. I would not have it any other way.
They are basing their everyday scholastic lives off of the book “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” written by Stephen Covey. There are banners all over the school reflecting the 7 habits and the principal, Mrs. Thorson, reminds the students all the time about these habits. They are preached to them over and over. I just love this!
Because it was teacher appreciation week, I showed my own appreciation for what they do and I bought the entire staff lunch yesterday. Togo’s sandwiches for everyone. It was the absolute least I could do for what they are giving back to my family.
My son is getting the best start to his academic experience and life that he could get in a safe, loving environment. I can’t be happier about that.
