He emailed me back and said that he’d call after he and his family got back from church.

About 2 hours later, I got a call from him.  His first question out of the gate to me, which I found somewhat surprising and certainly short sighted, was if I would cut my commission to sell his home.  He told me that he wanted to make the most he possibly could from the sale and wanted to know if I’d do that.

My first question to him was “what does the commission have to do with how much money you make from selling your Rocklin home?”  He told me that he felt the market would take care of selling his home for the highest price and that I didn’t really have to do much to get it sold.

In all likelihood, the gentleman who called me will not be making the most from the sale of his home.  His mindset won’t  permit it.  He will get a break on the commission by hiring a discount broker then leave thousands on the table.  I’ve seen it over and over again.
