An August of Vacations
I Have Not Been Home All Month!
Between scheduled vacations and one trip that was somewhat unplanned, I’ve not been home one weekend this month. Sheesh what a whirlwind of travel!
In the first part of August, my family and I went to San Diego where we have friends who insist we come down for a least a week (like that’s real punishment!) then it was off to Idaho where I have an ailing uncle.
It was a boys trip to Idaho and my son did so well. He loves to camp so we found a beautiful spot in Nevada in Lamoille Canyon outside of Elko..really pretty place.
The campground we stayed at is called “Thomas Canyon Campground” and if you get a chance to get there you should.
This is a little piece of heaven in an otherwise barren wasteland that is Nevada. Although the temperatures in Elko were in the 90’s, the temp just up the road in the canyon were in the 70’s.
Just beautiful here. A great stop over if you’re going anywhere on 80 toward Southern Idaho or Northern Utah.
Then I was off to Monterey on a big boys trip to visit friends and play in a Rotary Club golf tournament where I won the long drive contest. (the field was not that strong, trust me!)
This coming weekend, the last of the summer, is my first weekend home all month. I’m looking forward to dinner with friends in Friday night then getting the yard done, it needs it, and maybe even a little relaxing.
I’m looking forward to getting back into maintaining my sites and work. I miss work a lot! Now that school has started again, my schedule becomes a lot more work oriented. Thank goodness!
Wish me luck! 🙂
Thanks for visiting!
