Beer Made In Rocklin!
Out of Bounds Brewery
I don’t consider myself a beer connoisseur. I love beer but, although I worked in a micro brewery many years ago and have had many specialty brews, I’m no expert.
That said, this is GREAT beer!
Yesterday, I stopped by the newly opened Out of Bounds Brewery in Rocklin on Yankee Hill Road off of Pacific Street hoping to have lunch and a beer just to report back on what I found.
I didn’t find lunch but what I did find is old world beer craftsmanship that until now has been missing from our fair city.
These guys are beyond passionate about what they do.
Out of Bounds is an industrial area and was a little difficult for me to find but according to co-founder Anthony Brown, that’s where the zoning requires it to be and it makes sense.
Believe me the location isn’t hurting the quality of the beer!
Anthony was kind enough to show me around and allow me to sample some of their beers.
I tried everything they had on tap. The Railrider Black IPA, Wet Hop Ale (my favorite), the Joyrider IPA, Bad Ass ESB and the Strong Ale was the offering.
I, like a lot of folks, have those beers that I’m just “eh” on. Every beer I tried here I liked.
The beer is fresh and very flavorful each with it’s own personality, style and taste.
There are quite a few other beers coming soon and I’ll definitely stop in to sample them all.
The only thing I didn’t like was a lack of a kitchen but they have food coming in for events and it will vary.
Last night for the beginning of the NFL season, they had Bella Familia Wood Fired Pizza out back making pizzas. If you’ve never had a Bella Familia pizza before you have to try it..SO GOOD!
In summary, Out of Bounds Brewery is fantastic. I’ll recommend it to everyone I know who is into beer. Don’t believe me though, go see Anthony Brown and his partner Eric Johnson and let them school you on the finer points of what they do then taste what Master Brewer Bruce MacPhee has in store for you. I was impressed and I’m sure you will be too.
