New Homes In Rocklin: New Construction Update
Where Have All The Builders Gone?
I was out doing a little research for this post covering new homes in Rocklin and to my surprise of the 5 new sites in West Rocklin only two were building.
DR Horton Parkside at the corner of Blue Oaks and Sonora Pass Road and Standard Pacific in Whitney Ranch were the only sites where I saw activity.
Just a few months ago, all of these sites were bustling with earth movers, landscapers, brick layers and construction engineers but today..not so much.
The Rocklin Real Estate Market Has Changed..Again!
In the beginning of 2012 through about May, the Rocklin real estate market was bustling. Prices were rising so quickly that it began to seem as if it wouldn’t stop until we reached the 2005 / 2006 peak. Come July / August, sales came to a screeching halt.
It appears as if the builders are seeing the same thing as construction appears to have slowed. This is a good thing for existing 
homeowners looking to sell as it will reduce the competition in the marketplace. That said, now more than ever, being properly priced is critical to selling for the most money possible.
Just a few months ago we, Realtors, were praying for more homes to sell. Well we have it now that’s for sure!
I visited the JMC developments, the development just east of Whitney High School, the DR Horton Twin Oaks site at the corner of West Oaks and Stanford Ranch.
Crickets..they were deafening :-). Plenty of prepared lots but no construction happening at those sites.
I don’t know if was just the day I was there or if construction has stopped in most of the new sites. DR Horton Parkside has been building non-stop since it started in April. They are building very quickly.
