dr horton rocklinSerenity by DR Horton in Rocklin is in the center of the Two Oaks development that is bordered by West Stanford Ranch Road and West Oaks Blvd.  There are two developments in one area, one called Serenity and the other called Sunrise.

Sunrise is on the perimeter while Serenity is on interior surrounded by the Sunrise homes.  While I’ve seen home developments arranged like this before, it’s not that common.

Usually one side of the community are lower end, or less expensive, homes and the other side are higher end homes.  The high end homes aren’t usually surrounded by the lower end homes.

I guess if I look at how this property is situated, it makes sense.   It’s bordered on two sides by roads and it backs up to small commercial complex then to Unfi (United Natural Foods, Inc.) on the west side.  The interior lots would be more valuable than the perimeter lots in this case. (or at least the builder could make a case for that lol)

I like this location better than any of the existing new developments with exception to the Standard Pacific location in Whitney Ranch and behind Whitney High and to the north of the existing homes and the ranch house.

Serenity At Two Oaks by DR Horton

The square footage of the homes a Serenity at Two Oaks by DR Horton range from 3106 to 3898.  The bedroom count is from 3 to 5 bedrooms, 3.5 to 4.5 bathrooms all with 3 car garages and 3 “elevations” or front architectural styles.

If you’re looking for a new home you’ll recognize the interiors as being very familiar to that of other new home communities.  All the usual amenities are available and the homes, like all of the DR Horton developments in Rocklin, do not come with solar.

The homes, right now, are priced from the low $500K’s to the low $600K’s depending on the upgrades added to the base price.

All of the communities have homes that are finished but not sold and often times the builder will make a deal, albeit not a steal, on what they call “standing inventory”.  The reason for this is that vacant, unimproved land is taxed differently than home that is developed.  The longer a finished home sits unsold, the more expensive it becomes to the builder thus they generally offer a better deal on move in ready homes.

All of the new home communities I visited had a few completed, move in ready homes for sale.
